Vinous Neal Martin - 22 Nov 22
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a pretty bouquet, beautifully defined with pure red berry fruit, kirsch, orange pith and just a touch of warm bricks. Maybe just a tiny bit of alcoholic warmth, but in keeping with the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine delineation, fresh with the exuberance and florality expected from this Premier Cru. Fine mineralité and just the right amount of spiciness, that fans out with confidence towards the finish that feels long, but just misses a little precision and mineralité. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
